70 Million...and Counting!

It’s a big day here at iHeartRadio—we’ve officially surpassed 70 million registered users! Not only that, we’ve gotten to this point faster than any other radio or digital music service, even faster than Facebook! (Hey, we all need to pat ourselves on the back from time to time.)

So just who was the 70 millionth user? Well, he’s from Detroit and he used his new account to create a Morris Day playlist (very smooth choice, Mr. 70 Million!). Here are some other fun pieces of iHeartRadio data from the day we hit 70 million:

  • Taylor Swift is the most popular custom artist station

  • Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again (feat. Charlie Puth) takes home the prize for most popular song

  • On average, the most popular time for listeners to tune in to iHeartRadio is noon on Thursdays (across all time zones)

  • 60% of our users are using mobile devices to listen, with desktop site access holding strong in second place at nearly 40%

  • Our custom stations feature a catalogue of over 20 million songs, spanning more than 800,000 different artists

  • Our users have created more than 580 million custom stations (and that doesn’t even count all the live radio station streams they tune in to!)

  • Our app is available on 60+ device platforms and has been downloaded more than 600 million times

A lot has changed in the four years since iHeartRadio was born, but one thing has remained the same: our mission to be everywhere our listeners are. This has allowed us to reach more listeners than ever before and provide them with the “anywhere, anytime” listening experience they deserve.

We’ve come a long way over the past four years and are excited to see what the future holds. So here’s to our 70 million registered users—and to 70 million more!
